Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Permitting Manager / Senior Analyst to strengthen the permitting function for a growing mining project in Idaho. Working alongside the existing permitting lead, the successful candidate will bring structure and visibility to the permitting process, ensuring every permit, agency relationship and key milestone is clearly tracked and maintained within a shared system. The role combines hands-on permitting with business analysis and project management, providing clear and timely updates to senior leadership, the board and investors. The successful candidate will also act as a key representative of the company when dealing with state regulators, inspectors and other external stakeholders. The project is progressing from an initial tailings reprocessing phase towards the development of an underground mine and processing plant, with future expansion planned. The ideal candidate will understand the regulatory requirements associated with each stage of development and be proactive in identifying and preparing for permitting requirements well ahead of time.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will have strong, hands-on permitting experience, ideally gained on a mining project in the Western or Midwestern US. A degree is preferred but not essential where there is a strong track record in permitting. Knowledge of Idaho permitting would be advantageous, along with an understanding of relevant federal permitting processes. Experience working with federal agencies such as the BLM or US Forest Service would also be beneficial. Strong spreadsheet, dashboard and tracking skills are important, particularly for someone with a business analyst or project management background, together with an understanding of corporate governance and board-level reporting. Existing US work authorisation is required, with the successful candidate ideally based in Idaho.
The key requirements are practical permitting experience, excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships with agencies, regulators, site teams and senior management. Attention to detail is critical, with the ability to anticipate future permitting requirements as the project expands. From a personal perspective, the successful candidate should be confident but approachable, honest, straightforward and respectful at all levels. They should be polished and professional when representing the company externally, politically neutral in their approach, and willing to step up when required to support the project outside normal working hours.
Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Underground Mine Manager to lead the next phase of development at a past-producing underground tungsten mine in Idaho. The operation is progressing from an initial tailings reprocessing phase into the development and construction of a new underground mine and processing plant. This is a hands-on leadership role, with the Mine Manager acting as the senior on-site presence, overseeing contractors, driving safe and efficient delivery, and ensuring the project remains on schedule and budget. The operation is being developed in phases, with an initial processing facility planned at approximately 750 tonnes per day, with potential to expand as the resource grows. The underground deposit comprises tungsten-silver mineralisation hosted within a molybdenum porphyry system, with mining planned using underground cut-and-fill methods. The company is now looking for someone with proven experience in building, developing and commissioning an underground mining operation who can take ownership of site execution and contractor performance.
Candidate Requirements
The ideal candidate will have a degree in Mining Engineering or a related engineering discipline, together with strong underground mining experience and previous experience as a Mine Manager or senior site leader with direct responsibility for contractors. Crucially, they must have been involved in building a mine from the PFS stage through construction, commissioning and into commercial production, rather than joining once the operation was already established. Underground cut-and-fill experience would be a strong advantage, although the role is commodity agnostic. Existing US work authorisation is required, with a preference for someone already based in Idaho or willing to relocate. English is the only language required.
The key requirements are proven underground mining experience, hands-on mine development and commissioning experience, and a strong track record of managing and holding contractors accountable for safe, timely and effective delivery. From a personal perspective, the successful candidate should be honest, loyal, approachable and a genuine team player. They need to be calm and practical, able to solve problems, challenge contractors when required and resolve issues firmly but fairly while maintaining positive working relationships.
